How is generator size estimated?
The tool adds appliance input watts and quantities, estimates apparent power using assumed power factors, and allows for all selected equipment starting together. It takes the largest of running kVA, starting kVA and running kW ÷ 0.8, then adds 25% headroom. These are planning assumptions, not measured loads.
Is the suggested FG Wilson model a confirmed selection?
The calculator suggests the smallest FG Wilson catalogue capacity at or above your estimate, including 25% headroom. This is an initial product suggestion, not a confirmed engineering selection. JMG checks prime or standby duty, phase, motor starting, site conditions and availability before quoting. Estimates above 2,500 kVA need a tailored project solution.
Can I enter air-conditioning BTU as watts?
No. BTU describes cooling output, not electrical input. Use the electrical input watts from the equipment label. Inverter equipment, pumps and lifts need their actual starting characteristics assessed.
Can this size a generator for a building or factory in Lebanon?
